People love their giant gas guzzling vehicles over here. My Subaru is nearly unstoppable though. Sounds like a pretty cool west coast road trip. I have done that drive several times. The coast is beautiful, and there are tons of trails to ride.

Creative ingenuity. New designs like this will keep pushing our sport in interesting directions. Props to the designer and builder for not being afraid to try something completely different.

Look at him spotting his landing. You can tell this is not his first, or probably last, hard crash.

It seems like a lot of your pics are injuries from crashing.Smile It must mean that you are riding hard, and pushing yourself. Usually by this time in the summer, I am pretty bruised and beat-up too. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Dude, you make your stupid comments directed at me. You use my name. Its not like you are making some general comment for everybody. Leave my name out of your childish b.s. Don't wait to contribute. Do it now. I volunteered a lot of time to my community while I was still in high school, to help make it better for everybody. You seem to think you are an expert on everything, so find some like minded people and do something to contribute to the world around you. "even though you would feel good if i was." Get over yourself.

-1. Dude, I am a soccer coach, and you have no idea how positive it is for some of the students I work with to have a team to play for and some kind of structure. Team sports keep some kids interested in coming to school. I probably would have dropped out of high school if I didn't have team sports. I played something year round, and still raced in the SoCal BMX scene in the early to mid 90s. This is a joke made by people who couldn't hang with the team sports environment, or never tried. Go ahead and neg prop me.

Get off my nuts sxboy. Its like you are stalking me or something. Don't you and your queer internet toughguy buddies have anything better to do with yourselves? I am a hard working American. I teach full time. I am a grad student, a homeowner, a cycling and community advocate, a soccer coach, etc. Shall I go on? What have you ever done to contribute to your community or to the world around you besides being a jackass on pinkbike?

I'd like to apologize to everybody for contributing to this ridiculous argument. It is definitely a funny picture. THe ignorance and arrogance of my fellow countrymen is so maddening sometimes that it gets the best of me, and I would hate for the rest of the world to judge Americans by the ignorant rants of people like this. In my travels, I have run into issues in other countries because people get their impressions of Americans from a-holes like JOHNADAMSusa. I think we all just need to go out and ride our bikes.

I teach at an inner city school. Do you want to try and convince me that those wealthy business men are going to reinvest a pile of money in the neighborhood where I teach? Nice try. I am actually getting my pay cut by 5% along with the rest of the teachers that work their asses off to make sure our students have a chance to better themselves and make some positive contribution to the world.

Funny that you should mention a shoulder injury. Last summer, I did that very thing. slammed, broke some ribs, my scapula and seperated my shoulder. I had to go to referal after referal after referal for a week before anybody treated me. Then once I actually got treatment, my f*cking healthcare insurance denied my claim because a physician wrote that I had calcium build up from a past shoulder injury when I was 15. They tried to tell me that my injury was a result of a preexisting condition. I am in the hole several thousand dollars that I paid for a sling and a bottle of vicodin and hours of waiting in doctors offices for them to tell me that I needed to go see this specialist or that specialist. That was the extent of my treatment. Good thing I have a friend who is a physical therapist who helped me get movement and strength back. She told me that she could feel that I needed surgery to repair some muscle damage in my shoulder, but that would have never been covered under my health insurance. THey called it elective surgery. Subpar mean below acceptable levels. I stand by what I said.
Olly J is right. It is a funny pic, but somebody had to open their giant self righteous mouth and force their opinion on people that don't want to hear it.

Our last administration made us "parasites" as you so eloquently explain. Health care in the U.S. is the most expensive in the world, and subpar, at best, in quality. People can't afford to get sick and they do not have any other alternative but to be a part of our greedy money grubbing healthcare system. The last administration basically eliminated the middle class. Our last administration gave tax breaks and coddled the wealthiest companies when they put their hand out. THey made it pretty easy for them. Its not about "give me this, or give me that". It is about give me a chance to make it. THere are a ton of wealthy affluent people taking advantage of the system too, but you right wingers don't seem to want to address that issue, do you. I do everything for myself like a man should, just like you.

"My head is so firmly planted up my tail that it is unlikely that I'll ever have another point of view." We get it. You are a conservative right winger. You don't have to keep trying to convince us. Thanks for using a joke about a map on CNN as your left wing bashing soapbox. Once again, a right winger misses the piont completely. Typical.

Dude, you don't know anything about my masters degree, or about teaching apparently. So it stands to reason that you probably have a pretty one sided point of view when you stand up on your misguided conservative soapbox and preach that we do nothing to contribute to global warming. Whatever dude. I lived in China for 2 years, and saw exactly what was happening in big cities there to contribute to poisoning the earth. I lived in the Philippines for long enough to watch the reefs die and bleach. I don't live in California. Good thing Oregon State taught you to read a map. Thats like saying you live in Washington. Nice one. That makes me really interested in what else you have to say.

We have been coming out of an ice age since the last one ended. Not going into one. The earth is getting warmer. Check your facts. Global warming occurs naturally, but since the human race seems to only care about their serving their own greed and vanity, we have ignorantly sped it up at an alarming rate. The U.S., despite it's population numbers, contributes more CO2 to the environment than any other country in the world by choice. Nobody wants to sacrifice anything from their vain lifestyle so as to not leave a self serving eco disaster for future generations. What are we going to pass on to our kids? Oh, I see that you are 19. I guess that probably isn't a concern for you yet. I know when I was 19, I didn't think about that either. Now that I have a son, I think about it everyday. I am not going to tell you that you should give a shit about that bear. You should probably give a shit about what this world is going to look like in the future though and what effect the environment will have on people. Mother nature will survive, but the earth, like the human body will do what it can to get rid of viruses that attack it, so that it will get healthy again. Humans have been on earth for a fraction of time, and there is pretty clear evidence that we have done a tremendous amount of damage in a very short time.

Thanks. This is from 4 months ago. I get it that there are people that take advantage of the system. What about people that take advantage of it on the other side jerk? What about the ponzi schemes that bilked people out of billions of dollars? What about the corporations that ran themselves into the ground while spending working class peoples' money? What about the fact that America has the most expensive healthcare system in the world, but people can't afford to get sick or have health insurance because the system is full of corruption and money grubbing? What about the people who have been driven to poverty by the greed and ignorance that seems to ignore the fact that most of us are working class? Why is the middle class disappearing? Ask the last administration a*shole. Whatever man. That is so f*cking typical. You self righteous right wingers attack opinions other than your own and have no interest in even listening to the perspective of other people. You are right about everything, and everybody that is a liberal is stupid. You have the typical "I have to get mine" attitude of a republican who does not think it should take any sacrifice from the people of this country to fix it. You must think there is a magic pill or something that can fix it all without anybody having to change, especially you. I guess you have never had anybody help you with anything in your life huh? Dude, its time to move forward. We all live here. We all have to make our situation work. The people have spoken. They didn't elect a Bush clone/Republican puppet. They elected a real person who was left a steaming pile of sh*t to clean up by the last administration.

He didn't win the majority of the peoples' vote. He won the electoral college. A candidate does not have to win the popular vote to be president. Does that sound ridiculous to anybody else? Both elections were full of controversy, but for some strange reason, Bush came out on top both times.

See, its that kind of short sightedness that is going to keep people split. It's not just pinkbike users."People like you" has nothing to do with being on pinkbike. It has everything to do with people who prattle on with this ridiculous b.s. and can't wait to whine and complain when President Obama struggles a little, or makes a mistake. This country is divided. Don't kid yourself. And until we can really get past our differences for the good of this country it will remain so. THis type of self righteous rhetoric does nothing but create bad energy between people that share the common love for being on a bike. I don't see many of the Democrats like me still slamming McCain on this site because they have moved on, but I do see a bunch of bitter people still slamming our new president. It's time to move forward.
